The Stars are Words, uses newly printed matter (combining etching and type elements) depicting stellar cartography. It references atlases of the past, such as Flamsteed’s Atlas Coelestis, combined with elements of storytelling.

This project explores Chaos Theory: a branch of mathematics that addresses complexity in systems where outcomes are highly sensitive to changes in conditions. This involved spinning and dying yarn then crocheting the Lorenz Manifold, as developed into a pattern by Dr Osinga and Prof. Krauskopf. The textiles were then photographed and printed as textiles and interspersed with relevant literature. -

This project explores the notion of creation in relation to the beginning of the universe, and the ideas of myth and faith that have evolved from this, juxtaposed with scientific theories. I references symbols of ambiguity and perception in society, such as clouds, Rorschach ink blots and tangrams.
